Velvet Nelson is the Head of Business Development at Everblue, where she leads national partnerships that expand access to weatherization training and modernize how programs are delivered to the field. With a career that blends education, workforce development, and startup leadership, she focuses on building scalable, blended‑learning models that meet contractors where they are—online, in the classroom, and on the job site.
Velvet has spent more than a decade designing and implementing training programs that combine technology and hands‑on instruction, from launching a learning management systems to adapting accelerator curricula and technical content to virtual and hybrid formats. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Accreditation at Everblue, where she helped drive early adoption of hybrid learning for energy efficiency training and certification.
At Everblue today, Velvet works with state agencies, weatherization networks, and higher‑education partners across the country to build clear career pathways for weatherization professionals, integrating online micro‑credentials, in‑person labs, and field mentoring. Her recent projects include multi‑state initiatives that use blended learning to scale Weatherization Assistance Program training while maintaining quality and consistency in the field.
