The day in and day out of working in, on, and under homes can be deeply rewarding. However, the pendulum can swing the other way quickly and destructively. How do workers, auditors, inspectors, who enter homes daily, cope with the situations they find themselves in? How can they avoid turning to destructive tendencies themselves? How can they deal with trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout in a way that is life restoring and productive? This session will explore real life situations that demand processing, understanding, and recovery. It will also explore ideas for how we can support workers who are currently suffering from these issues.
