Edward Scott serves as the Director of Macomb Community Action, where he leads a staff of over 170 providing a range of programs aimed at reducing poverty and expanding opportunity across Macomb County, Michigan. His work spans energy assistance, weatherization, food access, early childhood education, and homeless services and his agency is focused on helping individuals and families move toward stability and self-sufficiency.
A Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP), Edward brings a practical, people-first approach to leadership. He believes strong systems and strong relationships go hand in hand. Whether building partnerships with local governments and community organizations or supporting frontline staff, he works to create conditions where both communities and teams can succeed.
Prior to this role, Edward held leadership positions in higher education and public service, including with Michigan State University Extension. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to expanding access, advancing equity, and using data to drive meaningful outcomes.
Edward is a frequent speaker on poverty, community action, and service delivery systems. At the National Home Performance Conference, he offers a local perspective on how energy efficiency, housing stability, and community action intersect to create lasting impact.
