Dan Maksymiw is a building science leader with nearly 15 years of experience advancing energy efficiency, weatherization, workforce development, and housing innovation at CEDA. As Director of Strategic Initiatives, he leads efforts that connect technical excellence, program innovation, and strategic partnerships to expand impact across the industry.
His career includes leadership roles such as Director of Energy Conservation, Deputy Director of Weatherization, and Training Manager, along with technical experience as an Energy Auditor, QC Inspector, Multifamily Building Analyst, and ABAA-certified whole-building airtightness technician with experience in enclosure testing. Dan was instrumental in designing and building CEDA’s Building Science Training Center and in developing hands-on training programs that support contractors and practitioners in the field. His work spans the installation and performance of energy conservation measures, forensic building enclosure audits, and the application of building science principles to improve design, construction quality, and project outcomes. He also oversees affordable housing development initiatives that reflect his commitment to high-performance, sustainable, and equitable housing.
Known for combining practical field knowledge with strategic leadership, Dan brings a real-world perspective to building science, quality assurance, and high-performance building practices, with a focus on translating technical standards into effective field implementation and lasting building performance.
