Andy Bardwell

Andy Bardwell is the founder and CEO of OptiMiser LLC. Dr. Bardwell has a PhD in Mathematics, and has developed software products for the Department of Interior and Federal Election Commission along with having 35 years’ experience in probability, statistical and econometric modeling. Andy also completed 2 years of graduate studies in Architecture and has over 40 years as the principal of a design-build firm specializing in energy efficient retrofits. OptiMiser originated to provide a practical pathway to sustainability for current housing. The original app demonstrated that, after a few energy efficiency measures, renewables were the next cost-effective improvement. The first version of OptiMiser automatically designed and modeled over 4,500 packages for Andy’s house. He implemented the lowest cost net-zero option 15 years ago and has been paying only connection fees ever since. Andy walks the talk in his net zero 1950′s home, rides an electric bike he and his son built 15 years ago, loves the outdoors and can often be found circumnavigating the lake behind his house while he ponders how to make OptiMiser ever more fantastic.
