Noel Merket

R & D Modeling Engineer

Noel is a mechanical engineer and software developer specializing in building energy modeling, particularly of residential buildings. In his work he has contributed to the R&D 100 award winning ResStock national-scale residential building stock model, the Home Energy Score, OpenStudio, OpenStudio-HPXML, BEopt, and the heat pump water heater and PV modules in EnergyPlus. He is now working on bringing energy efficiency to the real estate market through big data driven energy modeling at Pearl. He is the chair of the BPI Home Performance XML (HPXML) working group and an active member of the BPI-2400 (energy model calibration) working group. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Colorado.
