Program Manager, Workforce and Industry
Power Ahead Colorado (DRCOG)
Denver, Colorado
Clay McCombe, born and raised in Colorado, is the Program Manager of Workforce & Industry for DRCOG's Power Ahead Colorado program. He began his career in workforce development as a case manager supporting Denver’s justice-impacted community, an experience that sparked his passion for social justice and prison reform. Clay has since worked as a Beneficial Electrification Workforce Liaison for the City and County of Denver, where he authored workforce gap analyses and founded the Electrification Workforce Network. At DRCOG, he has designed and procured workforce and industry programs for Power Ahead Colorado. PACO is a $200 million regional market transformation initiative (funded by the EPA), which includes $13M in workforce/industry funding. Clay has designed Colorado's first ever Colorado Contractor Hub, which will serve as a one-stop-shop for contractors to find leads, receive heat pump training dollars, and expand their businesses. Additionally, Clay has designed a regional workforce initiative, Green Workforce Hubs, which will deliver $1M each to five of Colorado's largest public workforce centers in order to grow the electrification workforce by 3,800 by 2030. Lastly, he has designed 3 "Heat Pump Boot Camps" for three populations: Youth, Multilingual, and Justice-Impacted jobseekers.
