Become a Duct Testing Pro

Duct leakage testing is a key step in understanding how well a home performs. The process uses a duct tester kit that includes a calibrated fan, a ten-inch flex duct, and a two-channel manometer. These tools pressurize the duct system to plus or minus 25 Pa to measure leakage. Because every duct system is different, the testing process can change depending on the stage of construction and the type of system in place.
In this session, Sam Myers from Retrotec will guide you through best practices for duct testing in a variety of real-world situations. You will learn how to test at the rough in stage, evaluate zoned systems, assess existing homes, measure leakage to outdoors, and use alternative methods to seal supplies and returns. Sam will also introduce new technology that makes testing and reporting easier. The session will include a full demonstration in the classroom so you can see the process in action.
