Air contaminants cannot be eliminated, but they can usually be managed effectively. As more dwellings are weatherized, indoor air quality (IAQ) becomes more of a concern. In this session, we will address the essential elements of IAQ and their management, including controlling pollutant sources and reducing pollutants with ventilation (ASHRAE 62.2). Additionally, we will discuss the important topics of contaminants from combustion -- primarily cooking -- and moisture control.
Learning Objectives:
By attending this session, attendees will:
Know how to manage indoor air contaminants with ventilation, air cleaning, and source control
Describe methods of controlling and managing sources of air contaminants
List ten common contaminants of indoor air, including the major contaminants of concern
