The Residential Energy Dynamics (RED) online building diagnostics tools are now owned and maintained by the Department of Energy (DOE). The basic and enhanced versions of the RED tools may be used by anyone free of charge on the DOE website. The most popular tool is used for sizing ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation, but other very useful RED tools are not well understood. Some of these lesser-known RED tools, such as Air Leakage Metrics, Electrical Usage, Depressurization Analysis, and Advanced Infiltration, will be explained in a manner that makes them more useful and interesting to the user. Join the developers of the RED tools and bring your questions, and vote for your favorite RED tool.
