Senior Marketing Manager Santa Fe Dehumidifiers & AprilAire Madison, Wisconsin
Humidity problems happen in cold & warm weather, in small & large houses, and in conditioned & unconditioned spaces. In this session, we'll look at some of the causes of humidity problems in homes as well as their solutions. We'll discuss the benefits of monitoring dew point, dehumidification methods, and how to size and duct a dehumidifier properly.
In addition, we'll discuss the conditions that lead to accidental dehumidification and show how to avoid it. The primary ways to avoid it are (1) keep materials above the dew point, or (2) keep the dew point of the air below material temperatures. Sometimes you can do it with insulation; sometimes you need a dehumidifier.
Another important and often misunderstood topic is how to duct a dehumidifier properly. We'll show you several ways to do it and tell you which work best and which to avoid.
