Ductless heat pumps have gotten a lot of attention in recent years. Some people think they're the answer to all our HVAC problems. But are they? In this session, we’ll cover the elegance and the asterisks of these devices.
The elegance has been proclaimed loudly. They provide high efficiency, fine-tuned zoning, variable capacity, and more. The asterisks, however, are just as important. Some of the questions we’ll address here are:
What’s the best way to use these systems? Can you heat and cool with ductless systems only? Is it OK to put a ductless head in every bedroom? Do they filter the air well? How often do they need to be cleaned?
The bottom line is that these systems do indeed provide a lot of elegance. Just make sure you read the fine print so you don’t get burned.
